You never really own a mobile phone; you just look after it until the day you leave it in the back of a taxi.

evolution of the phone is about to cause some serious problems.
Once upon a time we got things repaired. Now if a button falls off we replaced the whole television. Thirty years ago people treasured possessions and if you lost your watch, for example, you’d be kicking yourself for weeks.
But the rise of fast fashion and disposable technology coupled with the proportional shortening of attention spans has filled us with disdain for our things. It is consumer communism: All property is…not worth picking up if you drop it.
Phones are the symbol of this new age. In the 18 years before I left for University we changed the family phone precisely once; but I upgrade my mobile every 12 months – more often if I can get away with it......
